Compliance
You get 1 primal point per day on the challenge if:
- You did not have any sugar, grains, or alcoholic drinks. Artificial sweeteners off limits as well.
- Each of your daily meals is balanced: it has protein, fat and carbohydrates.
- Must post your points to the blog daily (or keep a log if computer access is limited) – sharing recipes, venting, bragging is all encouraged – there could even be a category for a winner in blogging over the challenge
You also get 1 primal point per day on the challenge for “Activity.”
You engaged in physical activity of some kind (Ex: WOD, yoga, walking, biking, active recovery counts on rest days as well – this is not meant to encourage overtraining; and yes, sex counts too; we’re getting PRIMAL y’all
This means you can earn a total of 2 points per day; try to get them all!
We also strongly “encourage” you to eliminate dairy and legumes. Do your best!
40% of your score is compliance.
Performance
January 2nd we’ll run everyone through some baseline workouts & strength tests. This will get retested at the end of the 6-week challenge.
30% of your score will be percentage improvement over the baseline workout and tests.
Body Composition
Your inches not weight will be measured.
Also, you must take before and after pictures.
These pictures are for your personal records and will only be shared with the judge if you are interested in winning the prize money.
We will need a total of 4 shots: a front view, a right side view and a left side view, and a back view. Take the picture in front of a white wall, wearing only shorts if you are a male, or shorts and a sports bra if you’re female. The first set of photos must be taken by the first day of the challenge, preferably a few days before. A second set of photos must be taken at the completion of the challenge.
Change in Body Composition will compose the other 30% of your score.
Winning This!
Combining the 3 percentages (compliance, performance, and body composition) will give us your final “score”. We’ll select winners from a variety of categories like most improved in each category, as well as overall total. Additionally, prizes will be awarded by raffle to all participants so every one has a great chance here. Winner’s will share over $500 in cash and prizes (TBA).
Prepare Early: Read our survival kit (coming soon). Ask questions. Clean out your fridge and pantry – junk has to go!
It will be hard, we wouldn’t call it a challenge otherwise, but we have created a survival kit that includes info on how this type of eating will improve your life as well as meal plans, shopping lists, and recipes and we will provide each other with tons of support. Participating as a community greatly increases our chances of success; just talk to any of our September participants to learn more about the positive impacts and make the decision for yourself!
